Debut Championship season is over

Posted: 03 May 2011 10:33 PM PDT

Boston United finished the season at the 13th position

Yes, the season #5 is over. Only the 13 position this time. All previous seasons ended with promotions for Boston United. Championship clubs are too tough to promote in one season as for me. I had no chance to sign many good players who could bring the club to the Premier League…

Last 10 matches in the Championship

Last 10 matches in the Championship

I had slight hopes to raise up to the 6th position in the table but failed the task totally. You see Boston United had only 2 victories in 10 games. Mostly we had unlucky matches like these ones:

No luck

Once it had been impossible to compete with opponents. It was the match with Burnley that took the 4th position this season. So finally we are in the middle of the table… It's good that I claimed exactly these expectations before the season.

My biography as manager

Some of you asked me to post my biography in Football Manager 2011. Here is:

Biography of Vitaliy Mokosiy in FM 2011

Additionally I decided to include my profile in this post:

Vitaliy Mokosiy's profile in Football Manager 2011

Players of Boston United

Performance of my players isn't actually amazing this season:

Boston players in the Championship season

image

You see that this squad cannot resolve promotion task.

Interesting that loans part of my transfer policy wasn't successful. Only Pascal Yarbo was really worth loaning as you see.

Emil Hallfredsson

Emil Hallfredsson as Fan's Player of the Year

Fans decided that there were no better players than newcomer Hallfredsson in this season. I agree. He is a professional who drags the team to success. The only problem for winger of such quality is his age.

Emil Hallfredsson

Future squad changes

I started squad analysis with the report from assistant manager:

Assistant Manager's report, FM 2011

You should see the squad is quite weak and has to be changed perceptibly. So now some words about my positions that should be strengthened in summer. There are at least 4 such positions.

Central backs

image

I need one strong and quick central defender. Better than Maras, quicker than Moreno

Left backs

image

Merely I need better left back than Benjamin Genot who has been Boston player since Blue Square Premier League season!

Left wingers

image

You've seen attributes of Hallfredsson in one of the screen shots above. But you have also seen his age and average speed. So I don't want to rely upon his person. Other two guys can't pretend at the position in the first eleven. Moreover, Di Lallo will be sold because of poor performance and my vain hopes on his person.

Forwards

image

At the moment Boston United possesses many forwards. There are 5 of them (let's exclude Ryan Mason who plays at MC position as playmaker). But nobody impressed me during the debut season in the Championship. So getting a new, more efficient striker would be great!

Nearest future

Reputation of Boston United has grown what allows to get better players. As a result I will try to do my best during transfer campaign in the nearest future, because squad enhancements - a key to success in the next season!
