Almost in Euro League. Season #4 is over

Posted: 12 Apr 2010 10:41 PM PDT

Dear readers, I've prepared pretty long post today. Leeds story continues!

How I lost Euro League position

Before the last Premier League fixture there was a hot competition between four clubs for the 7th position allowing to play in next season's Euro League:

hot competition between four clubs , FM10

But unfortunately my team couldn't oppose to Wolves that became a team-surprise of this year. The away match was lost with the score of 0:1. But during the match I was constantly opening latest scores widget and trying to follow games of Manchester United, Aston Villa and Newcastle. They had to win to have chances on 7th position because Leeds had better difference of scored and conceded goals. Man Utd and Villa disappointed their fans with draws. It's a pity but I didn't expect that Newcastle will beat Chelsea in the away match… Sad

And the resulting Premier League table:

If we look through this table we'll see several surprising things:

- Man City and Tottenham were competing for the 1st position without Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd.

- Everton managed to relegate at all. Now it's likely their top stars (Rodwell, Bilyaletdinov, Gosling and others) will be sold.

- Wolves became the 4th! Absolute surprise of the year!

I will show you few screens regarding Wolves.

Some words about Wolves

Stats of my last Premier League match, FM10

You see I had no chances in the match. They have a really strong team with great teamwork. And now take a look at their squad in that game:

Tactical formation of Wolves in Football Manager 2010

They use simple classic tactics having:

- reliable goalkeeper

- tough guys in defence (Berra, Carvalho, O'Shea)

- pretty smart central midfielders who can score a long shot and give a good pass (Cohen, Milljas)

- quick and nice right winger Kightly

- explosive strikers: Bojinov and Ebanks-Blake.

I think combination of balanced squad and high teamwork gave such kind of result. They resemble me Valencia of Hector Cuper.

Last matches of Leeds United

My defensive line was truly good in the last matches conceding only 4 goals!

Leeds Players

Traditionally I propose you to take a look at player stats:

Brede Hangeland is the best, FM 2010

The worst Leeds players, FM10

Brede Hangeland is the most successful transfer in my Leeds story. He is a captain and leader of the team! I would also like to praise wonderkid Verratti, newcomer Jadson, excellent keeper Enyeama and experienced Leeds defender Prieto.

The worst players are Matty Taylor and all forwards apart from Andy Carroll and young regen Steve Williams. Therefore I am going to sell most my attackers and buy better ones! You will be wondered by my future transfers Winking

Additionally I want to show you Player Statistics of Premier League having Hangeland on the 1st position:

The season #4 is over. It was an amazing football year. But the next one should be even more interesting and astonishing because Leeds should get to one of European tournaments. I will also try to do my best to win either FA Cup or League Cup.
