Title won by goal difference

Well, Boston United managed to win Blue Square Premier League title in the end. Everybody is happy about that, especially club's board:

These matches were the last in BSP league for Boston. I believe we will never relegate to this league:

You can look through goals of 2 interesting matches of this period at my additional 'pictures & videos' blog:

- Boston – Bath 6:0

- Wrexham – Boston 1:2

The last one was crucial for title winning. Wrexham was leading during the match, but then James Collins managed to score twice providing us with morale raising comeback.

Though the destiny of the 1st position was decided in 2 last fixtures. It was like giveaway checkers. My team made a draw against Stevenage, York lost their match to Fleetwood at all… Then I understood that the title is mine because of huge advantage by goal difference. My players wanted to win the last match against York but poor goal moments realization prevented:

So here is the final table where goal difference matters much:

Boston players and their stats

Boston players

Worst Boston players

Boston players are the best in the league – that's for sure. Abdou Sall is the most valuable one. James Collins became the leading goal scorer. The most efficient and effective during the 3rd part of season – Toni Silva. He displaced Ismael Fofana from the main squad at AML position. My personal thanks to Abdeltareck Sakali whose efficient actions earned many points for the team.

Now some stats of my and other players in Blue Square Premier League:

James Collins was acknowledged by fans this year:

Finally I would like to show you the league totals where you can see Boston United as overachievers and James Collins as the Signing of the Season:

Preparing for League 2…

The preparation for the next season has already started. Actually I started with evaluation of players' strength in League 2. The analysis gave me the information that there is no large distance between League 2 and BSP League. Its clubs are somewhat stronger but I feel we should promote next year again. Though the current squad is not tough enough and should be strengthened perceptibly.

The other thing is that I was impressed by the best League 1 clubs. Don't know how to compete with them if I promote in the next season as well. Anyway it's a matter of future. Now I should be concentrated at League 2. It's not an easy task to beat the top clubs in this league…
