Posted: 14 Feb 2011 10:01 PM PST Now I can say Boston United is really on the way to success in League 2. New players are almost blended into team! As a result we haven't lost any game since November: There are two things I like the most of all in this match series:
Among the most interesting matches are: Tranmere – Boston United 2:4It's a comeback victory in the first round of FA Cup. You can view match highlights at True Football Manager+ blog.
Boston United – Luton 2:2Last minutes saviour in match with one of the league leaders:
Boston United – Grimsby 0:0Classic draw against Grimsby that promoted from Blue Square Premier League last season as well. The classics of this draw is explained by many failed scoring chances and low amount of shots on target:
As a result Boston can be found at the 3rd line in the league table with pretty good 5 points distance to the 4th position:
Changed season expectationsThe board suggested me to change season expectation during winter transfer window raising transfer and wage budgets. I agreed promising to win promotion this year: I think I have to do it because Boston squad is certainly one of the strongest in the league. At the current moment board is happy about progress of the club. Squad harmony is at good level as you see (it's for those blog readers who are worried about amount of English players in my team):
Players of Boston UnitedTraditional list of team players sorted by average rating looks rather well: Maceo Rigters is still the best goal scorer. Very good series of matches was played by Alagassimou Balde and Peter Leven. Abdou Sall doesn't want to stop wondering me. Blue Square North League player performs fine at League 2 level! But the most valuable commitment was made by Sydney Plaatjies. He became very important midfielder and playmaker in the team. Sydney leads a game making keen and smart passes much more than any other Boston player. Now he is one of the leaders in the League 2 Assists ranking. Sydney Plaatjies
OK, now we are ready for the final third of the season. Promotion to League 2 is must! It's also interesting to see how far Boston will go in FA Cup. |
