Posted: 18 Apr 2011 10:57 AM PDT Hello dear readers! I decided to tear the period including winter transfer window into 2 parts. So today you will know news about the first transfers and the latest matches played in December/beginning of January. But traditionally I am going to start with another episode of NTM's video story: Other his episodes are available under video story tag.
6 matches3 losses and 3 wins: Boston United performs better at home, and that's normal. Though I believe we should play better against Colchester and take at least one point. As a result Boston United is still in the middle of the table: Distance to the playoffs zone is 6 points. So my team still has some chances to raise up and participate in Premier League promotion competition.
Chelsea - Boston United 1:3The best match in Boston United history!!! It's fantastic and unpredictable victory! I thought we will be annihilated at Stamford Bridge, but Van Gaal (current Chelsea manager) decided to use reserve squad and paid for this: Watch the video of goals and checkout Chelsea squad in this game at my additional Pictures and Video blog:
Leeds United – Boston United 3:1The worst match of the reported period. Boston was easily defeated by Leeds United (Championship leaders): Leeds will be our next opponent in FA Cup. I am pretty sure they will not repeat Chelsea's mistake and most likely doesn't allow us to pass through. Here is the full list of the next Boston matches:
9 transfersUnfortunately my expectations on club's reputation growth were not really met. I hoped to see more high-quality players available who would join Boston United… Players outThese guys left the team because they were merely needless. Luke Summerfield disappointed me in role of playmaker during the last and this seasons. So it was a easy decision to sell him.
Players inI signed 1 goalkeeper, 3 strikers and 1 central midfielder for playmaker role:
Ryan Mason (MC, FC)Summerfield will be replaced by Ryan Mason. He seems to be good enough for that. Determined guy with good passing and finishing skills.
Eddie Johnson (FC, MC)Eddie should increase our attacking force. Forward position is still one of the most weak in Boston United. This is why 2 new first team strikers were signed. One of them is Eddie Johnson whose strongest side is quite high mentality.
Morten Rasmussen (FC)The second new forward is Morten Rasmussen. He had even managed to score his first goal in the match against Chelsea.
Alexander Schroder (FC)The third central forward is youngster who was immediately sent to the Reserves. Schroder can grow in a decent striker I believe.
Pavel Londak (GK)Welcome our new goalkeeper – Pavel Londak. I decided to pay high wage to experienced Estonian goalie feeling that the current one (Oscar Jansson) is not enough at this level. Just take a look at comparison of Londak and Jansson: Pavel was signed on December the 1st. Therefore he has already played 6 matches: 6.98 – very decent goalkeeper's rating, by the way! It's a good sign.
Boston playersIn the end I present a traditional player list sorted by average rating: Loaned Pascal Yarbo is still the best player. Anyway I am going to start changing him on newcomer Ryan Mason eventually. Another my small plan is selling Stefan Maierhofer who scored only 7 goals in 18 matches. This Austrian is too slow and awkward… Still hope to make several transfers in January getting better wingers and defenders. Though I am really limited by wage budget which I have already extended by means of request to board: Perhaps I will move some transfer money to wage budget if I find suitable players. |
