Season #6 expectations and transfers Posted: 09 May 2011 12:10 AM PDT OK, I am ready to announce start of another Championship season. It will be the second one for Boston United in the Championship. And this time I am going to promote into the Premier League! Though I was careful with official season expectations promising the club board only a top half finish: Sky Bet doesn't believe in my team. They write only about our relegation chances:
Players outI released on free Chorley, Webster, and Leven. They are quite old and don't reach necessary quality level. Antony Di Lallo was sold due to poor performance. I decided also to sell Moreno (my main squad DC) because of his age, slow speed and better new central defenders. High competition at FC and AMR positions made me to arrange transfer of Alex Nicholls as well.
Players inNow the most interesting part of the post!
Signings
1. Gaucho (AML)The first Brazilian in Boston United! One could say that $2.8M is too much for this quick technical winger. But I hope he will improve his attributes' values in future.
2. Scott Parker (MC)Famous English footballer joined Boston United! His speed and stamina are not so good as other attributes. But I hope experienced Parker can help our team in promotion into the Premier League anyway.
3. Jonas Ivens (DC)Jonas Ivens will create new pair of main central defenders together with Soumaoro (see him below). Very determined central back I should say!
4. Kalifa Cisse (DMC, MC)Another experienced player for Boston. Former Boavista, Reading and Bristol City player. Cisse is a professional with good air abilities. Going to use him mostly as substitution player.
5. Alex Billington (DL)Fast Alex Billington will cover left flank of our defence.
6. Jean-Christophe Bahebeck (FC, AMR)Nice good free signing. Bahebeck is a determined French attacker who can perform at either striker or right inside forward position.
LoansLast season's loans were almostly unsuccessful. Only Pascal Yarbo proved that he is worth spent money. Therefore I tried to be more careful with this part of my transfer policy this time.
1. Adama Soumaoro (DC, DMC, MC)Awesome, awesome, awesome defender! Soumaoro should cement the centre of defence together with Ivens. I hope also this guy will be able to score many goals from corners using his head!
2. Ross Barkley (MC)Decent central midfielder loaned from Arsenal. Barkley can be useful for my team.
3. Koray Gunther (DC)Third central defender for Boston United. Gunther possesses good pace and acceleration, this is why he can helpful against quick opponent forwards.
4. Pascal Yarbo (MC)Second Championship season – second loan period for Pascal Yarbo in Boston United. By the way, Fulham is our parent club at the moment. I have now 3 midfielders who can play Playmaker role:
5. Lenny Nangis (FC)Unfortunately I didn't find a forward better than those I have in the squad now (Morten Rasmussen, Christian Tiboni). I only managed to loan explosive striker Nangis from Lyon (Champoins League winners). The loan contract was signed with an option of first buy for $1.5M. So it depends on Nangis if he will be Boston player again next season.
Now I feel I have the squad that can compete with any Championship team. Everybody should work hard to deserve so awaited promotion in the end!
Q.P.R squad in the 6th seasonOne of the blog readers asked me to post Q.P.R squad. So I am doing this just right now: |
