Pretty good start. But could be better

Boston story. Season 6.

It's a moment when I start the second attempt to promote to the Premier League. I believe Boston United is strong enough to take playoff position at least.

Starting Championship fixtures and League Cup

11 matched played in the league. 4 wins, 4 draws, and 3 losses.

Boston United in the Championship

The 7th position is a quite successful result for such a new team after all summer transfers. Though Boston United could gain 9 points more. Just take a look at the played matches:

Boston United matches, start of the season 6

I will enumerated all failed games:

- Sudden loss to Swindon: -3 points

- Draw against weak Sheffield Wednesday, Plymouth, Charlton: –6 points

League Cup started to making me happy because 3 rounds are already passed. Though I should thank to lucky draws.

My team performs better than during the last year

Ye, now I can state this fact! Perceptibly better performance from Boston United this year. Many new players increased the team level even still being on a way to blend into squad. I want you to look at the 3 comparisons below.

Vs Colchester

This is the recent result:

Boston United - Colchester 4:0

Compare it with the last year results:

Last year results

Vs Burnley

This is how Boston played against one of the Championship favourites:

Boston Utd - Burnley 0:0

And in the last year Boston had no chances against Burnley:

Last year results against Burnley

Vs Southampton

We overcame The Saints, you can see it in the stats below:

Southampton - Boston United 0:1

And now compare this game with the away match in the last year. Very different matches!

You see we should loose the last year's game and were really lucky to gain one point in it.

New and old Boston players

As always, traditional list of players sorted by average rating:

Newcomers are only on a way to blend into the team. So it's just a matter of time.

Many players haven't uncover their potential. So I have certain hopes on them in a closest future:

- Scott Barron

- Steve Irwin

- Jean-Christophe Bahebeck

- Davie McLean

- Gaucho

- Lenny Nengis

Age of the last 4 players is under 22. All these four guys are either wingers or forwards. So therefore I hope to see them strengthening Boston attacking force soon.

Adama Soumaoro

Adama Soumaoro

This loaned DC is the best player of the reported period. Soumaoro is an air-king and has even managed to score 4 goals from corners!

2 months of complicated fixtures await Boston United. I would like to loose not more than 9 points during the period. It would be great to make draws against leading Hull and Blackburn.

Additionally we have Leeds as League Cup opponent in the 4th round. They are at the 6th Premier League position – our chances are definitely low in this encounter.
