Season 7: in 6 fixtures till the end Posted: 19 Jun 2011 02:35 AM PDT Hello my dear readers! Another part of Boston story today for you. I'm going to start with winter transfers just right now. Winter transfers3 players were sold and 1 was leased advantageously. All of them didn't play in the first team often during the reported period. First 3 players had expiring contracts and quite high wages. Moreover, Hallfredsson is already too old (33 years old) and slow for inside forward. New Boston footballersThere's no need to pay too much attention to Boston newcomers because they were signed to strengthen my substitution bench. So just look at the profiles of new folks: Laurent Prigent (DL/DR/DC) Paul Connolly (DR) Christoffer Eliassen (MC/AMC)
Firm 6th positionIn the last story post you saw Boston at the 4th position in the table in just 3 points distance from the 2nd line. Unfortunately, the injury crisis and some instability transformed the distance into 13 points gap. 6 fixtures to play. 6 points to both neighbour teams in the table. Wigan shouldn't reach us I believe. As well as we unlikely jump up to Sheffield United. It seems like Boston will take the 6th position in the end. Now about the latest matches: I have already reported about the Problems in the Championship due to injured team leaders. We had very poor 8 matches starting with Walsall game and ending with Hull game. Too many points were lost during this period… Later on my Boston has only been fighting for a right to stay in the Top 6.
The worst match of the periodIt's always complicated to play against Doncaster for some reason…
The best match of the period
Boston playersMost confident performers were Marc Tierney, Kyle Bartley, Juan Manuel Aguirre and David Abbott. 3 last players were injured for 1 or 2 months in winter. I had no good replacements so you see the result in the Championship table now. For instance, Peter Ramage had totally disappointed me playing at position of central defender… Many mistakes by goalie Pavel Londak, creatively weak performance by 2 playmakers Stanton Lewis and Salva Sevilla, poor inside forwards Martyn Woolford and Davie McLean… I understand Boston United has a pack of problems but it's still on the way to so desired Promotion!
Last 6 fixtures to playToo many away matches here. It's somewhat disturbing but I think I will manage to hold the 6th line giving the right of fighting for Promotion in playoffs. And how do you think? How do you consider Boston chances this season? |
