Feeling safe in 6 points from relegation zone Posted: 19 Jul 2011 09:20 PM PDT Well, yes. I have a kind of safe feeling now due to 6 points distance from Birmingham going the 18th. Here are the latest played matches: There were 3 important wins against West Bromwich, Fulham, and Burnley. The last two teams are our straight competitors. So it's really good result! More details about victories over Fulham and Burnley here: The bad news is that Boston has got into series of losses which won't finish in the next 3 matches against grand-clubs. So it can decrease morale level of my players perceptibly. I don't like also that this poor row of games started when I expected to take 3 points. We overcame Peterborough in many football components but didn't manage to gain a draw at least:
Boston playersOK, now some information about the players. Scott Cuthbert (bought for $2M not so long ago in January) debuted confidently strengthening the centre of Boston defence. He is the only player who has average rating above 7 for a while. I also want to praise winger Pedro Lima, Marcelinho, and George Forsyth. All of them were bought during the last summer and joined into a new core of the team. Mario Balotelli = Problem in attack?Unfortunately, I can't say the same about Mario Balotelli. His performance wasn't stable and efficient during the reported period. His biggest problem is efficiency during the last attacking phase. Very often Balotelli puts a ball into sky instead of scoring a goal. Just look at the statistics of his goal attempts: He does make a lot of shots, much more than any other Boston attacker. But 4% of goals and 30% of shots on target… Well, I will wait till the end of season and think about Balotelli again.
Future matchesBoston has 6 points of handicap in the relegation battle with 3 last teams in the table. Of course, 6 points doesn't give a guarantee that Boston will avoid relegation in the debut Premier League season. It's still 10 fixtures to play till the end. I see 3 stages during the last matches of the season:
The most tempting for me is to continue play Football Manager 2011. The end of the season is nearby! Go, The Pilgrims! |
