Boston Utd: The first Premier League season is finished

Posted: 24 Jul 2011 12:08 AM PDT

Yep, the season is completed and I managed to stay in the league having the weakest squad among all the teams Cowboy

Last season matches

My Boston United finds itself at the comfortable 17th position having 5 points distance from the relegation zone:

Here is the last row of Boston matches:

Last PL fixtures

I cannot say about the confident season finish because of the series of 9 losses in row. It ended during the home match against Sunderland when we should win the game due to perceptible advantage. It was the moment when Boston was going the 18th…

The next two fixtures (Middlesbrough and Bolton) were truly decisive and actually quite lucky. I've already posted screenshots from the matches at my additional blog:

Lucky last fixtures

As a result Boston Utd returned to the safe 17th line in the table. The last two matches turned out not so important but my guys played really flamboyant football scoring 6 goals in them and gaining 4 points more Applause

The last PL match

The last game vs Aston Villa was the most entertaining one. Therefore I would like to share its stats and video highlights with you, my dear readers:

Worst Boston players

I have mixed feelings about Boston players. On the one hand there are many footballers who disappointed me, on the other hand some guys performed quite well.

Obviously, MVP of the season is central back Marcelinho:

Now he is an object of zealous interests of many football clubs. I am rejecting all offers.

Scott Cuthbert (DC), Pedro Lima (AMR/AML), Marcos Soares (MC) made fine debuts in the season. They will definitely stay in the team. Stable and high-level performance was shown by our leader David Abbott. He had had several problem matches during the start of the Premier League but after all confirmed his class.

Following the average ratings you can see that Boston weakest positions are:

- Right Defender

- Central Midfileder

- Left Winger

- Striker

Additionally, I can say I am going to get rid of more than 10 players and sign new ones who would help Boston stop having the weakest squad in the league. Be prepared for another squad revolution! Cool

Question about Balotelli

Mario Balotelli had decent matches during the first quarter of the season. But later on he disappointed me…

Mario Balotelli

I have been using him as a left winger not central striker. Now look at Mario's statistics:

Balotelli's stats

More stats

28% - Shots on target. Only 5% of goals with large amount of attempts. Is it terrible?

You can compare him with my another winger Pedro Lima who was performing on the opposite flank:

What do you think about this issue? Could it be an adaptation problem? Should I give another chance to Balotelli in the next season? Thinking
