Q.P.R. story: Season 1 started! Posted: 31 Oct 2011 11:12 PM PDT Dear readers, at last I am ready to describe my first results with Queens Park Rangers. Played matches and formationAt first I want to tell that I had many friendlies. Spent a lot of time experimenting with tactical approaches. I selected a formation which had already been used in the 3rd friendly against Hearts. Here it is: I will make a separate post about my chosen tactics when I finish tuning it. But even now you can see here 4 attacking players and 6 defensive ones, their roles and duties.
[Fixture 1] Everton – Q.P. R. 2:1Now let's get back to the matches. I already posted detailed information about the first one against Everton including one-touch wonder goal of Tim Cahill:
[Fixture 2] Q.P.R. – Bolton 0:0The Bolton game was quite equal. However my guys were closer to win this one because of 2 clear cut chances + 2 woodwork shots, meanwhile Bolton didn't create at least a single really dangerous moment . 3 of 4 goal chances were failed by Adel Taarabt.
[League Cup, 2nd round] Carlisle – Bolton 1:4It was my first official victory in Football Manager 2012! Carlisle from League 1 can't be considered as a serious opponent, of course. DJ Campbell scored twice in this game.
[Fixture 3] Newcastle – Q.P.R. 2:1Newcastle is at the top line of the PL table after 3 fixtures. They were favourites in the game against my Rangers. Q.P.R. defence could do almost nothing against explosive forward Demba Ba who scored a double. It's a alarm signal for me…
Premier League tableIt's too early to say something about the table but Q.P.R. is already staying away from relegation zone
Few words about captain and vice-captainI selected new but very experienced QPR players as captain and vice-captain, they have the highest Influence and Determination among all. Though they are both new players for Rangers… Interesting that Joey Barton became unhappy after my decision's approval. He expected I suggest him captain's armlet!
Next 4 fixtures will be very tough for Q.P.R because Tottenham, Chelsea and Man City will be among our opponents. I am afraid all these matches will be lost and I will have to interact with players and make a team meeting to raise morale level… |
