Q.P.R: Average winter transfers + Good results Posted: 21 Dec 2011 10:02 PM PST Hello my friends! Today I will start with the winter transfer campaign. Though I wouldn't call it 'Campaign' because I didn't almost manage to buy players I wanted. The board gave me only $387K of transfer budget: But I adjusted it to $5.3M due to money supply in payroll budget: So I had enough money to make several good transfers. English players were my main targets during the campaign. I planned to get few English guys to Q.P.R. substitution bench easing Premier League team registration process in future. Players outAt first I sold DJ Campbell. His contract was running out in 6 months, I didn't see him as a main winger or forward because of better and younger players on the positions. Matthew Connolly stated he wants to play in the first team. This is why he was sold to Leeds.
Players inI had many English players as transfer targets: Junior Stanislas, Johnny Howson, Miles Addison, Jack Cork… But only one of them was enough inexpensive to be bought by Q.P.R. - Cole Skuse. Additionally I signed also prospective Alvin Arrondel moving him to the Reserves for a while.
Cole Skuse (DMC, MC)Bristol City was his native club before the transfer. Cole Skuse will be a rotation player at DMC position. He represents a type of player who should fit into Supersonic tactical approach very well due fairly high levels of Passing, Teamwork, Work Rate, Pace, Acceleration. It's also important that Cole is a professional person.
Alvin Arrondel (DC)Alvin is just a prospect. My assistant coach predicts Alvin has the potential to play at a similar level to Kaboul.
Q.P.R. matchesIt was a pretty successful period for my team. We are still at the 10th position in the league after very complicated row of matches. QPR had 4 matches with grand clubs + another one against Aston Villa going the 5th in the league. I am happy to have only 2 losses in all these games actually. And we could even have a better result if the Villans wouldn't be so lucky. Just look at the match stats: Of course, the best game is the one at Emirates. I have already reported about it in True Football Manager+ blog: I would like to single out the home match versus leading Manchester City where the Rangers were very close to victory. It's a pity but my defenders didn't cope with Christopher Samba twice. The strong central back won two key headers scoring two goals and equalizing the score twice during the match. After all these tough matches I feel we have a real chance to rise to the 6th position in the end of the season.
Q.P.R. playersNow I can say all newcomers almost blended into the team. Probably only Alberto Paloschi and Oscar are seeking themselves in the team. Surely I am ready to give them more time for adaptation. Ivelin Popov is still the best Q.P.R. player. Moreover the Bulgarian is among the best Premier League players by average rating! Our wonderkid playmaker Marco Verratti should also be praised. He is at the 2nd line in Key Passes Premier League ranking! Key Passes Top 10 Jay RodriguezI want to praise Jay Rodriguez who started to score more often bringing victory over Arsenal and draw with Man City with his doubles. Jay is the main Q.P.R. forward at the moment. I have to state his stats became much better than after the season start. Rodriguez stats now Rodriguez stats after the first 10 matches
Upcoming matchesMany tasty games ahead I should confess. I think the Rangers should take a lot of points in the matches. Actually I expect to see at least 7 wins in the end. So it'll be really challenging to play the game and realize a potential of Q.P.R. in the 2nd season. _____________________ Stay tuned, follow True Football Manager blog updates.
