Q.P.R. Significant winter matches

Posted: 25 Jan 2012 10:44 PM PST

Hello my dear readers,

Another Q.P.R. story report today for you. Well, everything is fine regarding results now. But at the moment I would like to start with the transfer window overview.

Winter transfers

The board didn't give me additional money leaving $8.5M I had unspent after the summer transfer window. So I was unable to spend much, and actually I didn't want to do it because of the negative balance:

$-15M

Players out

Players out

I let many youngsters to go on loan due to high competition for the Reserves first eleven. My reserve keeper Boaz Myhill decided to leave the team due to lack of match practice.

Players in

New players

Unfortunately, I didn't buy any right back as it was intended. Merely there were no inexpensive footballers equal to Hinkel who would join QPR. I hope the situation will change in summer after club reputation growth.

Neverthless I managed to 2 decent Spanish players and weak Welsh goalie Jason Brown (as a second backup).

Juan Alonso Romero (SC)

Looking over the attributes, you understand why I spent $1.4M for this talented young striker. Just two words - high prospect!

Miguel Angel Moya (GK)

Miguel Angel Moya in Football Manager 2012

Moya is a decent backup goalie for the Rangers. He has already played one match (the one against Blackburn) and got a clean sheat. Main keeper Ospina is unavailable because of an injury.

Q.P.R. results

15 matches: 8 wins, 4 draws, 3 losses.

QPR matches

On the one hand, it's only winter and all struggle is ahead in spring. But on the other hand, winter period is really significant in sense of getting good winning mood. Especially, I would like to emphasize on the matches between Christmas and New Year day. Q.P.R. played 4 games in 6 days and got 7 points! I think it's a very good result for a club with media prediction of the 9th position Палец вверх

Two most bright matches were against grand clubs. I already reported about them in my additional blog, please watch Tottenham match video highlights containing many beautiful goals scored by QPR wonderkids:

- Chelsea - Q.P.R. 4:1

- Q.P.R - Tottenham 6:1

And now I want to overlook 3 other significant games.

Wolves won their 2nd match against us

Wolves is a club that ovecame the Rangers twice in the season. They are becoming a bone in throat for us.

Wolves

Frankly speaking, I didn't expect they will have such perceptible advantage at Loftus Road. Fast Leigh Griffiths teached a lesson my central defenders scoring two goals on speed. This match proved we are not ready to compete for the title.

Wolves superiority

Unlucky. It should be victory…

It was a game without main goalie Ospina. And I haven't managed to sign backup Moya in time, therefore weak 3rd goalkeeper was playing. He conceded both very simple shorts on target; additionally, QPR attackers were not efficient in attack…

Weird result

QPR has lost the 2nd position after this very unlucky game…

League position

Surprize in Machachkala

Europa League 1st knockout round. Russian Anji was analysed and estimated by me as a strong attacking team with some weakness in defense. Their leader Samuel Eto'o and bunch of Brazilian midfielders multiplied on amount of scored goals in different tournaments looked somewhat frightening… But the Rangers proved to be much better than the opponent scoring 4 goals in the away match. Now I can select the backup players to the first eleven against Anji at Loftus Road.

Premier League table

Well, here is. Tough competition for the table top, and it's too early to say something.

My latest impression is the injury of David Ospina which influenced several matches. But soon he returns and everything is going to be fine with that.

As usually, Jay Rodriguez who can't stop scoring goals is in nomination for my best player of the reported period award. But currently I would like to give it to Marco Verratti. Italian wonderkid made 7 assists in 9 last matches!

Marco Verratti

Verratti's form

Additionally, I want to praise a guy bought for $21.5M in summer Alvaro Vadillo. Look at his average rating - it's higher than Oscar's one. But for a while Oscar is the main AMR in the team.

Fierro scored at first

Last but not least, I suggest you to take a look at the first official QPR goal of Carlos Fierro, the youngest talented striker I have. He is a person who can be another Jay Rodriguez in several years!

The closest future and my ambitions

Next matches portion

My ambitions grow every day in this season I must confess. I feel the Rangers can be very competitive in Europa League. Therefore I have already started dreaming about…  final! Though Roma, Inter, Sevilla, Dortmund may argue against that Улыбка

I have a good chance in FA Cup because only Arsenal is still on the course to win it. Other grand clubs are eliminated from the tournament. So I really hope to lift the first trophy this season!

Premier League ambitions have also grown after capturing the 2nd position for 5 fixtures. It's time to compete for Champions League places.

That's all for now.

Excited to be blogging for you,

Vitaliy Mokosiy
