Season 3. Priorities of tournaments

Posted: 31 Jan 2012 09:51 PM PST

Hello everybody,

It's my time to report about Q.P.R. progress in 3 tournaments: Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League. I should say I hardly set priorities between them. FA Cup seems the easiest for us to win. Winning Europa League would be a great success for European debut. Highly set bar of the 5th place in the last Premier League demands to repeat the result at least… But PL competition is very high.

I hope you will help me with priorities for the tournamnets writing some comments!

Q.P.R. matches

I would call the reported time period as almost excellent. It could be better if QPR would get at least draws in away matches against Arsenal and Man City.

13 matches: 9 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses

QPR matches

We progressed into Europa League semifinals what seems as a great achievement for European debutant. Sevilla was the toughest opponent on our way, and I even devoted 2 special posts to the matches against Spanish club in my additional blog:

- QPR vs Sevilla

I like the way The Rangers has been performing in the Premier League. This season, normally we win our PL matches until meeting with an English top club on its stadium. There were 2 such games during the reported period.

The worst matches

I think the squad strength of the both grand clubs doesn't allow to compete with them in away matches. It was really frustrating to feel helpless in the games against Arsenal and especially Man City. I need to improve QPR defense in future signing better players.

Almost failed FA Cup

Special words should be said about encounter with Leeds United in FA Cup quarterfinal. My guys nearly got out of the tournament due to my complancy. I set the second squad trying to get ready main players for the next match against Manchester City.  Read more about this accident and watch the saviour goal here:

In few seconds of FA Cup failure

Interesting that QPR revenged Leeds for lost nerves crushing them 5:0 at Loftus Road. Now we are again on the way to win our first trophy!

Premier League table

Premier League table

First of all you should see QPR has only 31 fixtures played. So my club should be located somewhere near the 5th position instead the 7th. But this season it seems Top 4 positions are very tough to win. All 6 English grand clubs are in great form now, and I cannot guarantee Q.P.R. will repeat the success of the last season (the 5th position).

Well, we'll see. Currently Premier League situation is rather tangled.

I am happy with my players and the way they have been performing. The only irritation can be expressed: Yaya Sanogo. Poor growth during tranings, inefficient performance on a pitch. Candidate for sale. I promise to make a squad analysis after the season to uncover weakest QPR areas and worst players.

Again and again, the best player was fantastic goal scorer Jay Rodriguez. He is going the 2nd in the Average Rating and Goal Scorers list of Premier League.

Lucas Digne

One of the best QPR footballers is certainly Lucas Digne. French wonderkid got February's Young Player of the Month award. Digne is only 20 years old but looks already very awesome. I am pretty sure he is able to become a world-star!

Beating Roma will be a tough task for us, of course. Though we have already managed to overcome strong Sevilla in a quite confident way. Why wouldn't we do the same with the Italian team? It's hard to predict whether Q.P.R. will win the Europa League this season, therefore I am keep silence for a while.

As for FA Cup, The Rangers are the main contenders here! All English grand clubs are already out of the tournament!

Premier League last matches will be really complicated due to matches against Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool. If Q.P.R. wins at least in two of them, Europa League place will be guaranteed. But, sure, I hope to qualify into Champions League.

Go The Rangers!

Excited to be blogginng for you,
