Q.P.R. Season 4 started!

Posted: 16 Feb 2012 10:13 PM PST

Dear readers,

it's a gladness for me to start telling you about the season 2014/15 in my Rangers story. You remember my ambitious season expectations and can compare them with the starting results now.

Q.P.R. matches

Rodriguez injured

I will start with said news about my amazing striker Jay Rodriguez. He got injured in the middle of the reported period. Therefore I had to use Paloschi and Fierro on as main strikers. Here are the matches, the red line marks matches without Rodriguez:

QPR matches

14 matches: 9 wins, 1 draw, 4 losses.

Domestic matches

Obviously we could do better on the start but it's still a good result for us. Though there were 2 first matches against Man City managed by Mourinho when I felt totally helpless. I tried to use different strategies and shouts but the class of Manchester team was unbeatable. Strategies applied:

- Standard and Control in Community Shield match

- Counter Attack in away match

Charity Shield

Away PL match

Away match against Man City

Liverpool and Tottenham

At last I got my first victory over Liverpool!!! It was the last PL team that didn't loose to Q.P.R. since the very beginning.

Liverpool victory

We should also win the home game against The Hotspurs… But this time fortune was against my players. It seems we were missing Jay Rodriguez much in this match.

QPR - Tottenham

Premier League table standing

Finally, Q.P.R. is located at the 5th line in the table in 5 points from leading Man Utd having 1 non-played match in stock. Very good result if you recall that I use 3 new first team players (Cahill, Garmash, Vukojevic) in the first eleven. They are only on their way to blend into the team and Supersonic tactical approach.

Europa League

Europa League group

My team was not so good in Europa League as in the domestic tournaments. But I link our current problems with lack of fortune actually. For instance, Koln was really lucky to survive at home:

Koln - QPR stats

Another example of misfortune: Napoli has got a one player advantage very early due to two-footed rough tackle by Popov.

QPR - Napoli

So now I should understand why I don't panic about 4 points after 3 EL group fixtures played. I think my Rangers merely have to win 2 other matches against Koln and Gaziantepspor providing secure finish on the 2nd position in the group. Though it would be great to revenge Napoli as well.

Players

This season I have a record number of the main players. I promoted 2 talented youngsters from the reserves: Lucas Kolar and Steve McCafferty. Scott Brown and Michael Kightly were moved in reverse direction due to very high squad competition.

Again Jay Rodriguez became has the best average rating with his 5 goals in 5 matches. But I would like to single out debutant Ognjen Vukojevic who has been performing very reliably and stably. Some blog readers were hesitating about him as 30 years old club newcomer for $15M. But Ognjen prove he is excellent transfer for us! This is how I and board think about the experienced Croatian!

Vukojevic

Form of Vukojevic

Interesting that all 3 important QPR newcomers - Cahill, Garmash, Vukojevic - have already managed to score goals.

Upcoming matches

Matches

We have easy matches in November and should work over winning all of them. December is going to be more tough including encounters with Arsenal and Napoli in the middle of the month. The fixtures look very promising in sense of good results. Can't wait to continue playing Football Manager!

Excited to blog for you,

Vitaliy Mokosiy
