My favourite FM 2012 features

Posted: 17 May 2012 08:59 PM PDT

Dear readers,

I continue to make a squad revolution in my Q.P.R. story. Frankly speaking, I had no so many squad changes in all my FM careers. So it takes much time. Especially difficult task is finding new central backs. But you will know the results in the next post. Now I would like to start discussion regarding favourite FM 2012 features.

Here is my rating.

1. 3D Match Engine

Obviously, for me it's always number one. I see the result of all my previous actions in the game. The game engine is very realistic in spite of several animation bugs. It's always so entertaining to watch matches and make some changes influencing your team!

2. Shortcuts

I know some of you don't use keyboard shortcuts at all. I am a software developer. Therefore any working environment is much eased by numerous shortcuts. The same can be said about Football Manager 2012. My most often used shortcuts are:

- Space (Continue Game)

- Backspace, Left/Right arrows (Screen Navigation)

- F3 (First Team Squad)

- F4 (Inbox)

- F6 (Shortlist)

- F10 (First Team Matches)

- Shift+W (Wage Budget)

- Shift+O (Club Finances)

- Ctrl+R (Match Preparation)

Shortcuts

3. Team report

Excellent addition to Football Manager 2012! It shows a lot of information about your team totally. You can find out the weakest positions, analytics about goals and tactics, squad comparison with other teams in the league.

4. Customizable views

I merely love using this feature. It's so convenient when you are dealing with different player lists.

Just create a new view for my shortlist. By the way, you can see my actual shortlist on the screen shot below.

5. Player roles and duties

Want to thank SI Games for adding roles and duties few years ago. They helped to improve our communication because it's much easier to explain how I use my striker saying 'Poacher' instead of long explanation of his player instructions.

6. Attributes history

This is what I had been asking them for many years. Happy to have this information about every player trained in my team!

Now it's your turn. What your favourite features in FM 2012?

Excited to blog for you,
