Q.P.R. Season 7 results

Posted: 05 Jul 2012 10:31 PM PDT

Dear readers,

it was a long and interesting season, and it has come to an end. Unfortunately, the last period was the most difficult for The Rangers. Crucial losses to Arsenal and Koln crossed out all our ambitions to win at least one trophy this year. However, my players battled hard and gained victories in the fundamental games against Man City, Tottenham, and Chelsea.

Played matches

Premier League

Premier League

We didn't manage to get into Top 3. Arsenal was very confident in the last decisive PL fixture winning with 1:0 score. But still, Q.P.R. is above Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham in the table. And the main thing is that we qualified to the Champions League!

I can claim main part of season 7 targets is achieved.

Arsenal - QPR 1-0

FA Cup

Arsenal in FA Cup

Arsenal got Q.P.R. off FA Cup in quite lucky way. It was a replay match with mostly equal chances. Though I would say my boys created a bit larger amount of clear cut chances.

But my backup defender Lorenzo Ariaudo made 2 catastrophic mistakes that result in goals. It's a pity because Arsenal was the last grand club in FA Cup. If we won against them, most likely we would win the trophy…

Europa League

Great quarterfinal and shameful semi-final. I have nothing to add.

Q.P.R. players

Players

Worst players

I am more or less satisfied with players' performance this season. Though some guys should be playing more stably and confidently. Among them:

- Central back Lorenzo Ariaudo. His adaptation period seems to be delayed. 2 mistakes with Arsenal became a disaster.

- Kamohelo Mokotjo (DMC). 4 short-time injuries influenced on his total performance and amount of played games.

- Lucas Digne (ML). He is the only one who has been playing for Q.P.R. since the first season. Lucas was lacking a stable performance.

- Gary Cahill (DC). Gary was a bright person in the squad as usually. Several brilliant assists like this one, and poor mistakes leaving us without points allowing to finish in Top 3.

MVP of the season

1. Carlos Fierro (SC). 36 goals in 50 matches. I reared a great explosive striker!

2. Mats Hummels (DC). He proved he is worth that crazy transfer money paid for him.

3. Bernard Holt (DC). English wonderkid who is getting better and better every day.

In-depth squad review will be available in the next post.

Excited to blog for you,

Vitaliy Mokosiy
