Wii Fit Dents New Year Fitness Video Market Posted: 01 Jan 2011 04:55 AM PST Following a Christmas binge, the new year DVD market is flooded with celebrity fitness videos, bought by us all with a promise we'll watch them regularly and lose any extra padding gained over the festive season. Seems though, that the celebs don't have it all their own way anymore, thanks to Wii Fit, which has eaten into the fitness DVD market since its launch. Rob Lowe, Nintendo UK's marketing manager, told MCV he expects the popularity of workout games to continue growing because they are much more comprehensive than DVDs. 'Games provide a whole fitness programme that targets different areas of the body,' he explained.
