Season 6 drama. Is Q.P.R. story over?

Posted: 09 May 2012 01:34 AM PDT

Dear readers,

it's a special post for today because I don't if I will continue Q.P.R. Actually it's up to you to decide! But let's examine the latest events in my game step by step.

Champions League fairy tale turns into drama

Q.P.R. got arch-rival Chelsea as an opponent in the CL semi-final. It seemed the awesome 2:0 victory at Stamford Bridge almost made our way to the Final! Almost…

I thought it wouldn't be too difficult to hold the ball and keep winning score, But hat-trick maker Lukaku and red carded Oscar burried the whole Q.P.R. How could it happen having 2:0 away win before the home match? There was the problem in efficiency of our attacks - the key problem of this season for us. Mexican talent Carlos Fierro failed a lot of chances…

It's soooo disappointing, I can't explain…

FA Cup journey stopped at semi-final stage as well

Vs Liverpool

Bernard Holt was sent off at the very early match stage. Nevertheless it was equal game even without one player. But you see Marek Hamsik decided its destiny on the last minute of extra time… I hoped to win in penalties lottery… Another tragic tournament finish for us.

Premier League

Well, it's the saddest story. I claimed title challenge expectations but failed to qualify into Europa League. It's the worst season for Q.P.R.

Matches

Poor goal chances realization was the main reason of low amount of taken points. Take a look at the following matches which QPR should win.

Q.P.R. - Sunderland 1:1

QPR - Sunderland

Blackpool - Q.P.R. 0:0

Blackpool - QPR

Don't want to talk much about the players. Douglas Costa was the best in the 2nd half of the season. I have even devoted the separate post to him as MoM award collector.

The worst players were:

- Central back Gary Cahill and Bernard Holt. Too many mistakes in defence!

- Often injured Sime Vrsaljko.

- Carlos Fierro who failed too many clear cut chances.

- Striker Jay Rodriguez. What the hell is happened with him? Just look at his season history.

Board confidence

They could even sack me because my manager's position is Insecure but didn't do that. The board likes Champions League and FA Cup results, at the same time they are very frustrated with the 7th position in Premier League.

The reasons of the failure in season 6

I feel I should enumerate the failure reasons now. This information may help you to decided my destiny in Football Manager 2012. So the reason are:

1. Incautious transfer policy before the season. I shouldn't make so many squad changes.

2. Patch influence. It seems my Supersonic tactics is not so efficient as it was before the last Football Manager patch.

3. Too much of squad rotation.

4. Bad luck with player injuries and red cards. Most likely it's the result of hard tackling over-usage.

Should I continue Q.P.R. story?

Let me explain why I decided to set up this question. I had certain targets and expectations for the first 6 seasons announced here:

Now the 6th season is over, and we can see the totals of the story at the moment.
