Top Gear Test Track for rFactor 2 – New Previews

Tuttle has released new previews of his Top Gear Test Track for rFactor 2.

The previews show off plenty of great looking trackside objects such as airplanes and helicopters that have recently been added to the track.

Located on the Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey, England, the track is arguably the most famous airfield in the automotive world as it's regularly featured in BBC's Top Gear programme to evaluate both cars and drivers.

The scratch-made track will come with seven different layouts, including the one used in the TV-show.

Assetto Corsa – First Gameplay Videos

First gameplay videos of Kunos Simulazioni’s upcoming Assetto Corsa title have surfaced on Youtube.

The videos show the P4/5 Competitizione at Imola and the Lotus 49 at Monza, giving us the first ever chance to check out the new simulation in motion.

Assetto Corsa will be powered by a brand new DirectX 11 graphics engine and will come with advanced features such as blur & DOF. The title will offer extensive modding support as well as ten laser-scanned tracks and fully licensed cars as well as AI – A first for a Kunos title.

Forza Motorsport 4 – Porsche 911 GT2 Preview

Turn 10 has revealed a new car that is part of the 30-car Porsche DLC pack for Forza Motorsport 4 that will be released later this month.

The new preview shows the 1995 Porsche 911 GT2 at Hockenheim, the pack will feature a mix of street & racing machinery, several of the cars will be completely new to the Forza franchise.

The pack will not just consist of cars though as 20 new Porsche-centric career events will be added alongside 10 new Xbox LIVE achievements.

The Porsche expansion pack will be available starting May 22, due to the amount of content it will be more expensive than regular DLC packs as the pack will sell for 1800 Microsoft Points (roughly 20 US Dollars).

Interlagos for rFactor 2 – Early Previews

Aside from working on the stunning Croft for rFactor 2, feels3 has found the time to work on another track as he has started creating the Brazilian Interlagos track from scratch.

Below are the first, very early, previews of the Brazilian Grand Prix track’s mesh.

Located in suburban Sao Paulo, Interlagos is officially known as Autódromo José Carlos Pace. The 2.677 mile circuits incorporates 15 corners and has hosted the final race of the Formula One World Championship in numerous seasons.

SRT – Sub $200 Sim Racing Rig Review

A few days ago, Shaun "The Builder" Cole put together a PVC-made sim rig for less than 200 US Dollars, assisted by the lovely Jessica Lopez.

Now that the rig is complete and neatly painted, the guys have reviewed it, checking how their home-made solution puts up against the commercial competition.

Fanatec ClubSport Wheel Production Started

A month ago, Fanatec announced the pricing of their upcoming high-end ClubSport wheel base and the accompanying rims.

Now, the company has kicked off production of the new units as manufacturing of both the bases and the Formula rim has been started.

Fanatec expects the first wheels to arrive at their warehouses in June, pre-orders will be accepted once the wheels are on their way to Europe in a few weeks time.

6e66o’s Motion Simulator – New Video

Three weeks ago, I posted a video of 6e66o’s very impressive motion simulator cockpit.

Now, a new video of it has been released as 6e66o has recently bought a GoPro HD camera that is often use in racing to record in-board footage.

The video below shows the chest-mounted camera in action with his simulator, creating a very intense video that comes rather close to real in-board footage.

Enduracers Porsche GT3 Cup Series – New Previews

Team EnduRacers have released plenty of previews of their Porsche GT3 Cup Series mod for rFactor and a yet not revealed platform.

The massive mod will include the 2010 & 2011 seasons of no less than five Porsche Cup series that use the 997 GT3 Cup model as the mod will feature the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain, Porsche Carrera Cup France and Porsche Carrera Cup Italy.

Adding to that, the team also plans to release cars from the 2012 & 2013 in additional packages later on. Furthermore, community painters will be given the chance to paint their own versions and the car will be added as GTC version to the Endurance Series mod as well.
