Project CARS – Junior Build 207 Available

Slightly Mad Studios have released the newest build of their WMD-powered Project CARS title, giving all members access to a spectacular new car.

Build 207 adds the Pagani Zonda R to Project CARS, the car is part of a partnership with Pagani that was announced yesterday and will see two other cars of the Italian manufacturer being added in the comings months.

Aside from the Zonda R, the new build also brings a first version of the Harrison Pike Raceway oval, a first pass at the title’s improved Force Feedback system and much more as you can see in the detailed changelogs below.

Known Issues: Artifact appears on the steering wheel of the Zonda when in a high speed crash.

Build 206 (3/5/12, Senior Manager)
First pass tweaks of the updated FFB to reasonably fit most vehicles until params are surfaced to the GUI
Per car FFB scaling reactivated
Add small amount of steering trail back to FFB, to weighten up understeer dropoff, and overall weight, a little
Re-add GUI tyre force modifier to per-car FFB formula. Also set defaults for this for all wheels to 100 (1.0, so no effect)
Fix for track select menu defaulting to right most layout instead of left
FFB: reduce base drag a little. More chance of oscillation but a better (more detailed) feel overall

Volkswagen Polo G40 Cup – First Previews

Digital Apex Modding has announced a new mod for rFactor, the Portuguese Volkswagen Polo G40 Cup.

The series ran from 1991 to 1993 in Portgual, using the G40 version of Volkswagen’s Polo.

As you can see below, the team has already made some great progress with the model and started on the interior as well.

SimRacingReview – Derek Speare ClubSport Pads

In the newest video, Doug Meyer reviews Derek Speare’s Tilton pedal pads for the Fanatec Porsche ClubSport pedals.

Assetto Corsa – BMW License Announced

Kunos Simulazioni has announced their next car license for Assetto Corsa as the upcoming simulation title will feature vehicles from BMW.

Assetto Corsa will come with several BMWs, including both road-going machinery and racing cars. Previews of the first car can be seen below as the BMW 1 M Coupe is the first of the batch to make it into the simulation.

The developers have commented that BMW was an important license to acquire due to ” the cars having exemplary balance and handling“.

Assetto Corsa will be powered by a brand new DirectX 11 graphics engine and will come with advanced features such as blur & DOF. The title will offer extensive modding support as well as ten laser-scanned tracks and fully licensed cars as well as AI – A first for a Kunos title.
